Seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented Assistant Designer for fast paced dress company. The ideal candidate is a driven team player. The Assistant Designer will work on all aspects of the product lifecycle form concept to final development form the Designer whom this role reports into.
My Client was founded in 1989. Growing from a single junior product line to 10 leading women’s brands. you will be working under the Sir./ Designer working on Moderate day Dress's selling to companies like JCPY, Kol's, Nordstrom, & Belt.
We are a full-service manufacturer, wholesaler, licensee brand manager and ecommerce retailer.
Major Responsibilities
- Adobe Illustrator flat sketch dress/sportswear collection (cut sew knits and wovens)
- Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop prints and patterns
- Daily email communication with fabric mills, factories, and offices
- Input garment info on A2000 for costing.
- Help maintain (organize) design area.
- Keep clear records of all design development: color, prints, trims, reference tears, etc.
- Organized all proto samples in current season
- Assist with showroom set up and presentations.
- Communicate with sales team
- Market awareness with competition and general fashion market, shop stores in NYC
Required Skills/Knowledge
- Proficiency in: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Gerber Yunique PLM, Windows (Outlook / Word / Excel).
- Passion for creating elevated, dresses and sportswear within price targets.
- Excellent design and sketching skills.
- Strong fashion and creative ability. Keen trend and competitor awareness.
- Strong organizational skills & ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Able to work on fast paced environment.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work well with multiple team members and cross functional areas.
- Positive Team player attitude.
- Sense of urgency and accountability, driven by a strong work ethic.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
